Basia Irland, professor emerita, Department of Art and Art History, at the University of New Mexico, founded the Arts & Ecology program at the university. She is a Fulbright scholar, author, sculptor, installation artist, and activist. Irland has published numerous books, including Water Library (2007) and Reading the River (2017).
