Jan van Boeckel, PhD, is a visual artist, researcher, and art educator currently serving as professor of Art and Sustainability at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. He co-established the international research group on arts-based environmental education at Finland’s Aalto University. In 2013, he presented his doctoral dissertation, “At the Heart of Art and Earth: An Exploration of Practices in Arts-Based Environmental Education.” See www.wildpainting.org.
