Rad Pereira

 

Portrait of Rad PereiraRad Pereira is a cultural worker, performing artist, healer, and educator. Their work ranges from social sculpture to performances in theater, TV, and film. 

Pereira has worked as a community organizer, cultural strategist and facilitator, actor, director, and teacher. They are co-author with Jan Cohen-Cruz of Meeting the Moment: Socially Engaged Performance, 1965-2020, by Those Who Lived it (New Village Press, 2022).

They split their time between Campinas, São Paulo (known as Pindorama by the Tupi people) and Brooklyn, New York (known as Lenapehoking, originally a Lenape land.) They work is centered on community participation in artmaking and healing, with a special focus on transformative justice and queer re-indigenization of culture.
